We are celebrating a quarter century on the farm and our garden reflects the years of change and growth. Our kitchen garden has filled our needs with herbs and greens, and we have had plenty of flowers to fill our vases.
Food preservation is a time-honored way of stretching the harvest bounty between seasons. The products that we offer are the best of their kind made in ways that preserve and enhance the basic fruits. We hope you enjoy them.
Our cottages sit in a group among the apple trees, forming a little village of sorts. Each has a porch to sit on, a wonderful big bathroom and a comfy queen sized bed.
We welcome you to join us at the farm for a weekend of cooking, eating and relaxing. It is a perfect setting for a rich exchange between mostly city folk and our rural lifestyle.
Our heirloom apples are grown on the Navarro River bottom in Mendocino County. Morning fog and hot afternoons produce tender skinned and intensely perfumed fruit.
It was the cold wet winter of 1984 when we first began to tame the wild and neglected property that we call simply “The Apple Farm.” There were apple trees, but it wasn’t much of a farm. Over the twenty some years, we have come a long way.
